What you are granting
Yearnkeep is interactive fiction. Before you play Wrong Number — or leave an email — we want every grant to be plain English. Nothing hidden in a wall of gray text.

Story access (in the app)
You must affirm all four before the iOS story can continue past onboarding:
- Age 16+ — You confirm you are at least sixteen years old. Yearnkeep is not for children.
- Fiction — You understand Claire, Julian, every message, call, emergency, ticket, and relationship are fictional. Purchases never send money or help to a character.
- Terms — You agree to the Terms of Use (summary on that page; full text when published).
- Privacy — You have read the Privacy Policy summary about what is stored and what is not.
What this grants us: permission to show you authored romance fiction and store on-device progress, heat preference, and settings you choose.
What this does not grant: carrier SMS, marketing spam, access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or precise GPS.
Anonymous product metrics
If you turn this on in the app:
- We may receive privacy-safe events such as: app open, story start/end, choice id, audio completed, paywall view, purchase/restore result, SMS consent status (not the message body).
- Events use an opaque installation id — not your name, not your phone number, not story text.
What you grant: limited product analytics to improve reliability and design.
What you do not grant: reading your messages, listening to audio content uploads, or building a personal advertising profile from dialogue.
Turn off anytime in Settings. Default is off.
Real-phone story SMS (carrier)
Separate from the in-app text thread. Only if you explicitly enroll later in the app:
- Program: Wrong Number story messages (fictional character follow-ups).
- Frequency: up to 4 messages per story chapter; varies by play.
- Rates: message and data rates may apply (your carrier).
- Quiet hours: authored follow-ups are held outside 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. in the timezone you provide with consent (device timezone — not GPS tracking).
- Controls: reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help; or revoke in Settings.
- Not required to play free chapters or to purchase the complete story. Not marketing consent.
What you grant if you enroll: permission for Yearnkeep’s server to store your verified phone number (encrypted) and send only pre-approved template texts tied to story beats.
What you do not grant: freeform chat, AI-generated texts, or selling your number.
Carrier SMS is currently off in production infrastructure until legal pages, registration, and controlled tests pass. The in-app story works without it.
Email (website only)
If you join the waitlist on yearnkeep.com:
- We store the address you type so we can tell you when iOS / TestFlight opens.
- We may send product updates about Yearnkeep. You can ask to be removed anytime via Support.
Email is never used for character dialogue. Julian does not email you. Story lines live in the app (and optional carrier SMS templates only).
Permissions we never request

- Consent timestamps and versions you accepted
Erase local progress from Settings (two-step). Purchase restore is separate via Apple.
