What you are granting

Anonymous product metrics

If you turn this on in the app:

• We may receive privacy-safe events such as: app open, story start/end, choice id, audio completed, paywall view, purchase/restore result, SMS consent status (not the message body).
• Events use an opaque installation id — not your name, not your phone number, not story text.

What you grant: limited product analytics to improve reliability and design.

What you do not grant: reading your messages, listening to audio content uploads, or building a personal advertising profile from dialogue.

Turn off anytime in Settings. Default is off.

Real-phone story SMS (carrier)

Separate from the in-browser / in-app message thread. Only if you check Story SMS on the play opt-in form and provide a number you own:

• Program: Wrong Number story messages (fictional character follow-ups).
• Frequency: up to 4 messages per story chapter; varies by play.
• Rates: message and data rates may apply (your carrier).
• Quiet hours: authored follow-ups are held outside 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. in the timezone you provide with consent (device timezone — not GPS tracking).
• Controls: reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help; or clear local consent and contact Support.
• Not required to play the free multi-modal path or to purchase the complete story. Not marketing consent.

What you grant if you enroll: permission for Yearnkeep’s server to store your verified phone number (encrypted) and send only pre-approved template texts tied to story beats.

What you do not grant: freeform chat, AI-generated texts, or selling your number.

Carrier SMS is currently off in production infrastructure until registration and controlled tests pass. Your opt-in is stored so delivery can arm when the program is live. The story works fully in-browser without SMS.

One-ring novelty (short hang-up · no voice)

Only if you check One-ring novelty on the play opt-in form:

• At authored story beats, Yearnkeep may place a very short outbound call (about 3–5 seconds) and hang up so your phone typically rings once.
• No telephone voice communication. No live conversation. No character voicemail dialogue. No recording of your voice. Signal only (e.g. “he’s okay”).
• Not required to play. In-browser multi-modal audio and scenes remain available without it.
• Controls: revoke via Support or by clearing site data / re-opting without the one-ring box. Quiet hours aligned with SMS where both are enrolled.

What you grant if you enroll: permission to use your number for short hang-up signals tied to fixed story beats — not for sales calls or open-ended calling.

Real one-ring calls are not armed until carrier/voice-trunk registration and tests pass. Opt-in is collected now; delivery stays off until then.

Email (website only)

If you join the waitlist on yearnkeep.com:

• We store the address you type so we can tell you when iOS / TestFlight opens.
• We may send product updates about Yearnkeep. You can ask to be removed anytime via Support.

Email is never used for character dialogue. Julian does not email you. Story lines live in the app (and optional carrier SMS templates only).

Local data (no grant needed beyond play)

• Story progress, heat setting, captions, haptics, reduced motion
• Keepsakes you have encountered
• Consent timestamps and versions you accepted

Erase local progress from Settings (two-step). Purchase restore is separate via Apple.
